Our Responsibility

We received the first GOLD standard ‘Awards Trust Mark’ in the world in May 2018… and have retained it every year.

Transparency at Our Core: Absolute integrity, zero compromises.

In 2018, the Global Good Awards was awarded the ‘Awards Trust Mark – Outstanding’ standard and have retained it every year since. The Trust Mark recognised or key ethical principles:

  • Open Access, Smart Curation: We welcome all organisations, but we’re not afraid to decline entries that don’t align with our responsible ethos.
  • Crystal-Clear Process: Our timelines, costs, and commitments are fully transparent, published upfront with no hidden surprises.
  • Transparent Scoring Criteria: Each category features exact, predefined weighting that provides crystal-clear insights into our evaluation methodology.
  • Judging with Integrity: Our selection process is a rigorous, bias-free zone. Independent experts, strict professional matching, and comprehensive scoring ensure only the most deserving win. Plus our judges all sign NDAs before accessing your confidential work.
  • A thorough three stage judging process: Judging is scored online using a clear and effective system removing any possible bias or inconsistency. It is then followed by a full-day of judging to decide upon the most deserving winners. Judges don’t reward for aims and targets (or greenwashing!) – only action and we don’t give out prizes just because an entry is the best in the category; our entrants must hit a minimum standards for each prize level.
  • No fees until entry submission: Entrants access application forms immediately after registration, with payment only required upon submission. Zero financial barriers, maximum accessibility.
  • Zero bias and conflict separation: Although judges and sponsors can enter their own organisation, no discounts are extended to them. On Judging Day, we implement rigorous protocols to ensure complete independence and objectivity.
  • Accessibility is Key: Finalists are not obliged to attend the awards ceremony, although we encourage them to do so. We make the ceremony as accessible as possible to those on tight budgets; allowing them to choose to attend physically or virtually.
  • Integrity in Selection: A razor-sharp shortlist that prioritises merit over ticket sales.
  • Knowledge Sharing Matters: Every entrant receives detailed feedback—because growth happens through understanding.
  • Amplifying Results: Free winner resources—logos, social assets, press materials, and multimedia content—instantly available to celebrate and share your achievement.

“Now in their tenth year, GGA still is, in my opinion, the most ethical and transparent awards programme out there. As such we regularly recommend them to clients who only want their company to be associated with awards that reflect well on their brand and ESG purpose. Having reviewed the entry processes, seen the extent to which the judges debate the winners, heard about the excellent customer experience provided to all entrants, and witnessed the extraordinary sustainability credentials of their events, I can honestly say that I would love it if the whole awards industry took a leaf from their book.”

Sustainability is in our DNA

We believe that if we are to recognise and reward change across all aspects of purpose driven sustainability and social impact, then we have to ‘walk that talk’ right beside our entrants! We’re working to ensure that everything we do is as sustainable as possible; and here’s how:

  • Supporting carbon capture: We support the work of CoolEarth by donating 1% of all turnover from sponsorship, entry fees and ticket sales, and by helping to protect rainforest canopies via their carbon capture projects to match the emissions from our event that we aren’t able to remove.
  • Ethical venue choice: We require our venues to meet certain sustainable standards or have ethical or social values. We are proud to have hosted our ceremonies at BMA House (certified Green Tourism Gold) and their caterers Company of Cooks (certified 3 Star SRA) since 2018.
  • Minimalistic surroundings: Our event signage and printed materials are minimal, relying mainly on our venue’s digital screens. Since 2016, this has been supported by Seacourt, the world’s top scoring B Corp printing company.
  • Digital efficiency: With the help of Erjjio Studios, our website is not only hosted with 100% renewable energy, but optimised to reduce carbon emissions on page loading; classify it A rated.
  • Sponsor selection: Our sponsors must be able to demonstrate their purpose-driven sustainability and good governance – we don’t allow brands to greenwash through our programme!
  • Catering with conscience: We work with our venues to deliver a fully plant-based menu that can demonstrate that you don’t have to ‘be’ vegan to ‘eat’ vegan. All our alcoholic and non-alcoholic are vegan too, as well as biodynamic and/or organic.
  • Fast-fashion free zone: We encourage a freshly-eco’ dress code where people wear something sustainably made, something from a charity shop or dig something out from their wardrobe and ‘reuse’.
  • It’s all about the trophy: Made by one of Britain’s leading contemporary fused glass artists, Siobhan Jones, the beautiful awards are all unique and Siobhan shares the ethos of our awards in her daily life and business. They are all made from offcuts and fragments of glass from her workshop with the bases made from offcuts of metal.
  • Making Money Matter: We bank with Starling and Aldermore.

“The competition was fierce but so inspirational, and we all felt incredibly motivated to keep going – using our brand and reach for good. It felt like seeing an ocean of opportunities to collaborate and make a difference. A real eye-opener of how many amazing people and projects are working every day with the aim of saving our planet.”
